It was one of those days. The ones where when your alarm went off, you just layed in bed and listen to the annoying beeping. You don't bother about the spider staring you down from your peeled off ceiling, you just stare at the awkward lighting fixture until you tell yourself to smile and enjoy a new day. Aiden had been having those days a lot lately. Yes, that same spider, and that same peeled ceiling. But, what got him the most was the fact that he never wanted to get out of bed. It was worse than your average teenager. The whole problem was that Aiden never really went outside anymore, which was not healthy. Not even if you're used to that kind of thing.
So that's how he found himself in the middle of Town Sqaure. Sitting by a fresh splurt of bird poop and sipping coffee from a mug that said 'world's best brother'. No, he might not be the world's best brother, and it may be the last clean coffee cup he had, but Aiden still sipped it in style. He glanced around at the sqaure. People passing by, enjoying their lives. Aiden sighed and pulled his grey-sweatshirt clad arms in closer to his body. It was freezing outside. He glanced down at a hole in the knee of his jeans and frowned. Vogue Photographers would probably stray away from Aiden Sara. Today, and every day.

Evangeline Clarke was a morning person. You could tell by the fact that it was only seven in the morning, and the girl looked absolutely radiant. Her gold sequined tank accented her brunette locks in a way that made the girl look like she was just born looking fabulous. However, her light blue jeans, the ones she had sewn fake jewels into, showed that she was able to be both girly, and sporty. Which, in itself, was something that most had trouble maintaining. The bottom line? Despite the fact that she had literally just thrown this outfit together, Angie looked like a goddess. A very casual goddess, but a goddess none the less. And this goddess had a mission. Though, like most things, missions usually fail before they even began.
Hannah, Angie's foster child, was no where to be seen, despite the fact that school was out for the day as a precautionary measure for the war. No one had been able to figure out what the Opposition's mission was, aside from chaos and destruction, of course. And, so, that day, Angie had an entire list of things she wanted to do with Hannah. But since the girl was more than likely off with some of those people she called friends, Angie was stuck with absolutely no idea what to do. She hadn't planned to open up the store that day, and therefore, was stuck when it came to plans. But, like most working girls her age, making a little extra cash had seemed like the next best thing to winning over their foster kid. Not that she needed the money, of course.
It was on the way to her store that she saw him. Aiden. A man who was the complete opposite of everything that Angie wanted. He was cute and funny and all that, but he was also rude and obnoxious at times, unable to really open up, and .. well, he was basically Angie, with bad taste in clothes. But that wasn't the guy that she had always dreamed of. Angie wanted Mr. Charming, the rich, fashionable, totally open, amazing guy that she would make the girl look better just standing next to him. But, for some weird reason, Aiden Sara was the only man that had caught her eye in a long time. Despite his obvious flaws, she was fascinated in him. And, like most times when she saw him, all rational thoughts seemed to escape her.
And so, instead of making her day a productive and useful one, Angie decided to have a little fun. And she knew from experience that Aiden was just the guy to go for when you wanted some fun. " Late night?" she asked, taking a seat next to the man, eyeing his cup of coffee and the rings around his eyes. Yeah, so maybe he wasn't perfect. But no one could deny how adorable Aiden looked, sitting there, sipping coffee and looking extremely tired.

The sun was starting to shine from the interiors of the clouds, and Aiden set his little mug-holder thing next to him before rubbing his eyes- just like a four year old who had just gotten up from his nap. He knew that there were major bags under his eyes. But, that was old news. For some odd reason, he always had bags under his eyes. Maybe it was genetic, maybe it wasnt. Aiden was able to pull out a yawn before realizing what was across the street from him. Evangeline Clarke. Aiden felt a smile tickle his lips, but didn't let it shine. He wasn't about to get totally giddy from just looking at her.
Just because Angie was the kind of person that he would never ever dream of getting for himself, didn't mean that he couldn't look. He was just like every guy out there who wanted to get Angie. Oh, Aiden knew what kind of guy she wanted. Prince Charming, horses and all. Aiden Sara was no prince charming. That was for sure. At best, he was the guy who held the prince's underwear when he got dressed. Aiden smirked at his little joke before noticing that Angie was coming toward him. Another sip of coffee.
Her words echoed into his currently dead brain. "Late Night? More like Early Morning." He looked at her, happy that they were able to just sit down and talk. "And, well, I shouldn't bother asking. I already know that you're here to sell your beautiful clothes", he mused jokingly. Aiden picked up his coffee mug and drank the last bit of it, before scrunching his nose at the thought of being without coffee. Aiden was the kind of person who woke up to the smell of coffee. He was an addict. If they had meetings for that kind of thing, he would definately show up.
Aiden looked over at his counterpart. She looked beautiful of course, as always. Looking at those two sitting together from a distance it must have been like beauty and the beast all over again. He sighed, to himself, and looked down at his gnawed up, old converse. No, he hadn't eaten them. For some reason, dogs always attacked his feet. Were his feet delicous? Aiden never would know.
He looked back at Angie and felt a stomach ache coming on. Not because she was sickening, no, just because that's how he was. But, he tried to turn his attention away from her for a minute. He thought about his family (weird). His little sister, who was an exact replica of him. That was what worried him. He thought about his mom, who did everything she could to keep him out of trouble. And then he thought about his dad, and scrunched his fists together in anger. He couldn't stand that guy.

It took all that Angie had to keep from laughing at how early seven o'clock seemed to the guy sitting next to her. He acted as though he would rather die than be up this early, and yet, he didn't seem to have a reason for doing so. Which was weird, but Angie wasn't going to comment. In her experience, making fun of tired people was never a good idea. So instead, she kept her mouth shut, not bothering to bring up her random question.
However, when his words reached her ears, she couldn't help but smile. In the semi-short time that they had known one another, one things had become obvious. Angie was career-aholic. She was always working, just because she absolutely loved her job. Every single time that the two of them had talked since they first met, Angie was either working, thinking about working, or about to work. But who could blame her? She was her own boss, and that definitely had it's advantages. " Well, I was going to work, but I saw you sitting here all sad and lonely and decided you could use my presence more than the store can." At the end of her words, she gave the man a playful wink, but figured he probably wouldn't see it. After all, he looked as though his mind was off in space somewhere, not paying too much attention to her.
It was then that Angie noticed his eyes divert from her, to his shoes, and then back to her. For a girl as self-conscious as Evangeline, this simple action made her feel .. Awkward. She knew that she looked awesome, just like always, but up until that point she really hadn't paid too much attention to the fact that sitting next to her, Aiden looked like a freak. Not that she really saw him that way, but others might. It was amazing that there wasn't paparazzi swarming around, taking photos of the two together. She could see the headlines now,
FASHION GODDESS BEFRIENDS HOMELESS MAN.
Sure, they didn't know that Aiden was more than just a fashion disaster. But as he sat there in his old and raggedy clothes, he certainly looked the part. Which, to be perfectly honest, kind of made Angie feel bad. Not that she was sitting there talking to someone who didn't dress like a model. But that she could make someone else frown at the fact that they dressed like 99.9 percent of the population. Just because she was obsessed with how she looks, for the fear of someone seeing through her clothes and noticing how plain she really is, doesn't mean she wanted anyone else to be the same. She would never admit it, but Angie kind of liked that Aiden wasn't crazed with how he looked. Kind of like he was a unicorn. A rare find.
As all of these thoughts rushed into Angie's mind, she had to try her hardest not to laugh. There she went again, over-thinking and over-analyzing every little detail. It was her downfall, usually. But Aiden didn't need to know about this. "So." she said aloud, struggling to remember what they had been talking about, "What are you doing up so early anyway?" Yes, by this point, Angie had forgotten her promise to keep the question to herself. But at least asking would keep awkward silence from creeping up on them. Or, at least, keeping her mouth busy asking random questions would keep her from using it to kiss the guy sitting next to her. Which, for some weird reason, seemed to be something she thought about a lot when around Aiden. Ugh. Why did Angie have to crush on a guy that had the perfect pouty lips? It was just so damn annoying. And yet, extremely attractive. Damn him.

He listened to Angie talk about going to work but stopping to work for him. A small blush rose over his cheeks, but he hid it with a silly-looking frown. "Well, isn't it so nice of you to think of little old me when you have your little clothes over there." He laughed a little at his sarcastic remark before looking down at his empty coffee cup and making that face again. It was pretty sad how much of a coffee addict he was.
When she asked him why he was here, Aiden didn't how to answer. Why had he been there again? Right. "I needed to get out of the house. Get some nice, fresh air." He looked over at Angie to see her reaction, but it didn't look like she was really paying any attention to him.
Aiden sat there for a moment, the smile everyone knew him for on his face, just looking out at the people in the town sqaure. There were mothers and sons, teenaged lovers, old couples, and those all-too-familiar dog lovers. His smile turned into a frown when he thought about the war. What would happen to these various people on the streets? Would they get hurt? Or even worse, would they get killed? Aiden shuddered at that thought. These innocent people losing their lives. It just wasn't right. And for a guy as insensitive as Aiden, this was a special occasion.
He then turned his attention to Angie. What if she was killed? As corny as it sounded, even though they weren't even officially together, he didn't know what he would do without her. It was like a drug. One taste, and you could never get over it again. That's he did it. Aiden pressed leaned over and pressed his lips against her in a quick fashion. He immediately pulled back, so angry at himself.
If he was going to make such a gutsy move, why didn't he kiss her longer?

" Well, maybe when I think of my little clothes, I think of the many people in the world who obviously could use a better wardrobe. But, of course, that would never include you." Angie laughed softly and turned her eyes to the guy sitting next to her, a smirk rising upon her lips. She couldn't help but tease him, after all. It was just something that two of them did. Being sarcastic and teasing one another was the best part about the AngAid friendship. The secret crushes, however, were the worst. Having an attraction to a friend was bad enough, but being hopelessly infatuated with one was worse.
But no matter how badly she crushed, Angie knew of one thing. Men are weird. Evangeline was certain. She had learned in her twenty-one years that they were unpredictable, irresponsible, and often put women in the most awkward situations. But something about these facts made Angie a bit guy-crazy. She had never been single, or at least had never had went without a crush, for more than a few weeks. And, therefore, you can probably already guess that Aiden wasn't the first guy to spontaneously kiss her without ever mentioning that he was interesting. Things like that just seemed to happen around the brunette beauty. Which was, of course, both a blessing and a curse. After all, most of the guy's who had done this random display of affection was only attracted to her figure and bank account balance. It was entirely too hard to sort out the good guys from the bad ones. Especially when a good guy was the one doing the kissing.
In a spur of the moment action, Aiden's lips were soon on top of her own, both surprising, and pleasing Angie. But the kiss didn't last long, and soon she was forced to react. Say something. Do something. she attempted to tell herself. But she just couldn't. Her mind was buzzing with thoughts of the short, but amazing kiss. And soon, Angie was finding herself thinking about the future. What if he was just like most guys, attracted to her body but not her in general? What if he got bored with her? What if he was killed in the awful war going on around them every day? The one that Angie should have been worrying about more than some kiss. But the one question that forced itself to the front of her mind .. What if he regretted it?
It was then that Angie finally looked up, seeing a frown, yet again on Aiden's face. But he didn't look like he was beating himself up for kissing her. The way he bit his lip nervously made her believe he was just mad at himself for not kissing her longer. But that was crazy, right? Angie took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down and tried not to focus on the fact that she was utterly speechless. And then, it became clear that the only way to know for certain what that simple kiss had meant, was to call another one into play. But this time, she wasn't backing down until he did. Because Angie just had to know what it meant.
After biting her lip gently, she finally got up the courage to do what he had, and pressed her lips firmly against Aiden's, letting her entire body scoot a little closer, just in case he actually was interested, and his surprise kiss wasn't just a random thing he would never do again.

Aiden watched Angie watching him, wondering what she was thinking. Was she thinking he was a wuss for kissing him so quick, was she wanting him to kiss her again, or was she just plain pissed because he touched her? But, when Angie pressed her body against his and kissed him again, Aiden knew what to do. He wrapped his free arms around her back, pulling her closer to her. He kissed her back, trying to speak with the way he kissed her. Finally, it said, finally.
And, as he kissed her, a sudden image flashed across in his mind. A crazy image that Aiden had never thought before. Bells, white flowers, bowties. Something so dramatic and one-sided that Aiden thought he would never think of. Marriage. He saw it. Him standing there next to the priest, with Jake and Andrew. He looked across him to see Hannah, with Alisha and Cora, not to mention Joscalyn, a smug smile on her face. He knew she was going to attempt to ruin it somehow. His crazy sister. And then he saw the doors open, and the people stand. And he saw Angie.
She was walking slowly down the aisle, music rushing around the cathedral. A classic dress, nothing too fancy. And he saw her face. How beautiful she was. And he smiled. His eyes welled up a bit, but he quickly wiped them before anyone around him noticed. Aiden Sara was not going to be accused of crying at his wedding, no sir.
He raced through the ceremony, looking in to Angie's beautiful brown eyes before they put on the rings. Then the priest told him to kiss his bride. Their lips touched, and almost magically, Aiden was brought back to the present.
With Angie pressed up close to him, kissing him softly. He thought about earlier, when he was so cold. He sure was warm now.

There wasn't a word in the dictionary to describe how amazing it felt to feel Aiden's lips pushing against her own, knowing that he felt it too. She was mesmerized and her stomach was doing wild flips and twists and turns. She was happy. No, Evangeline Clarke was giddy. That's all there was to it. She couldn't imagine a better moment than the one she was sharing right then. But don't get too happy just yet. Sure, things may have been absolutely perfect, kissing him, her hands finding his and locking them together, her body pressed up against him, so close that she could swear she felt his body heat even through the clothes. But, being the negative person that she was, her mind was racing with 'what if' and 'what now' questions. And that certainly wasn't helping the mood.
Angie's eyes closed shut, blocking out all of the sights around her, letting herself try and focus on the fact that she was kissing him, finally. She attempted to remember that this was what she wanted. This had been all that she had wanted from the moment she realized that Aiden was someone she could see herself with. But the fear that something could go wrong and she might lose him forever was entirely too much to handle. Angie was crazy that way, she knew, but fear always seemed to prevent her from opening herself up all of the way. She couldn't just let this guy take over her mind. She had to have some control, just in case. But would worrying about it too much bring about the end of them? Would Angie be stuck inside a brick building until she finally learned to just go with the flow and stop questioning everything? Would Aiden stay with her if all she ever did was worry that he might leave?
It was in that moment, as that question passed through her mind, that Angie thought of the one person she ever really felt was worth deeming a 'relationship' title. Andrew Scott, her first love. While Angie knew that she wasn't in love with Aiden, she couldn't help but worry that someday she might be, and that he would either leave or, like Andrew, find someone better. As these thoughts passed through her mind, Angie found herself pulling away from the kiss, though she tried to maintain the smile she had held on her face. She knew that if she didn't, Aiden would think she was having second thoughts. And she wasn't. She was just .. A negative person with entirely too many thoughts racing through her brain. A deep breath reached her lips as she just sat there, her fingers still entwined in his and her body still sitting close.
Angie attempted to open her mouth, to say something intelligent, something that would explain how wonderful she felt just being next to him. But only four words escaped her lips, and neither of them even remotely explained how she truly felt.
" What does this mean?"

Aiden just sat there for a moment, breathing hard, looking into her eyes. He was a little scared. After swapping spit with a fashion icon, of course. Plus, that whole marriage scene. He really didn't know what was going on. That was definately not the Aiden we know and love. When Angie popped the question that both of them were talking about- he didn't know how to answer. What he wanted to say was that he just had a vision that they just got married and maybe they should, just in case he really was a crazy psychic.
Ummmmm.....no. Talk about awkward. At this point, Aiden was speechless. And, believe me, no one ever thought that this would happen. All through his life, he had been known for the guy to always know what to say in the most awkward situations. Well, there might as well be an evil fairy out there who stole his tongue, and possibly his brains, because at this point he couldn't even muster an 'uh'. For some odd reason, he looked down at the ground. Where was that Twix commercial? He was ready to shove a candy bar down his throat.
Finally, he able to muster up something. "Um, wow. I really don't know what do say which is a total surprise. I mean, knowing the witty and charming person that I am." Boy, oh boy, Aiden was falling apart piece by piece. "What I mean is. Uh. Maybe we should talk...you know?" What did he think they were doing now? Kissing again? At this point, Aiden wasn't sure she'd ever want to kiss him again. It was time to grow some. "I think we should be together. It's the most, uh, logical thing to do."
Then, Aiden Sara smiled. He hoped to the angels up in heaven to come down and knock some sense into her head. And, as soon as he had started, he finally realized what he had done. Right now, Aiden wanted to gnash his head against the sidewalk and scream bloody murder. He was like a coke machine that was completely out of order. Grrarrr! His smile faded and he looked back at his coffee cup again, hoping the answers would fly out of the cup. Then again, he hadn't gotten much coverage with this whole crazy situation so far.

In her twenty-one years, never had Angie been more confused about what she wanted, then she was at that particular moment. She had always been the type of girl to know what she wanted and go after it without fail. But at this point, she was just so damn confused and scared and worried that one wrong move might end up leaving the two of them an unclaimed couple. Angie had never been so nervous in her life, but this wasn't all due to the fact that Aiden was an amazing guy that she wanted to be with. No, part of it was due to the fact that she hadn't been dating anyone for a while. Let alone be in what could be considered a relationship. Angie had been single for far too long and she had began to forget how exactly a relationship works. Hard to believe coming from the girl who dated and slept around in high school, more than any of her friends.
As Aiden's words rang out through the air, she couldn't help but smile. At least he was as surprised by their intimate display as she was. That was kind of comforting, actually. But when she heard his next words, about how they should be together, her entire body went stiff. Could this possibly be real? Was he serious? There was nothing in his tone to hint that he was just messing with her head, and Angie figured he didn't have the guts to do so anyways. It was then that her body loosened, her smile returning. Maybe if she just went with the flow, like she had been told to do oh so many times, the relationship she wanted with Aiden would certainly happen. And maybe then, Angie would have something more to look forward to than just her next big sale.
A simple smirk replaced the smile that Angie had been wearing, and the words she had been unable to think of just seemed to flow through her, their teasing tone warm enough to let him know that she wanted to be with him as well. " Logical, huh? Well, you know I'm not a fan of doing the logical thing." Angie's eyes sparkled in the sunlight as she watched Aiden carefully. She was certain that they were going to happen now, not that she really needed to fear that they wouldn't. After all, what could resist her? Ever since junior high she had been turning heads. Angie just worried entirely too much, which was something that she promised herself right then that she would attempt to do less. "But then again, as long as logical doesn't mean boring, I think I can handle it." It was then that Angie pressed her lips against Aiden's once more, hoping that her message was clear enough. She wanted him, that's it. Wanted to be with him, wanted to kiss him, wanted to eventually love him. That nagging fear seemed to evaporate as she deepened the kiss. Maybe this wouldn't be such a bad thing. Maybe Aiden could be her Mr. Perfect. Maybe Angie just needed an excuse to learn that not all men are total idiots and jerks.
Well, that last one was definitely something she needed. And if Aiden could forgive her when she couldn't see past the black and white world she had created, then maybe, just maybe they could have a real chance. But for now, she was just happy being next to him, her lips pressed against his, her fingers caught up in his hand. Whatever happened after that, at least she would have the memory.

Aiden watched Angie smile, and hoped she hadn't gone crazy after sharing so much oxygen with him. It wasn't the first time. Aiden have some crazy exes, so at this point, he was a little scared. When she finally spoke about wanting the same thing, a bunch of green monsters jumped off his chest. Not literally, but it felt like it. He was just plainly relieved. As Angie pressed her lips against his for the second time, Aiden felt pure bliss. As weird and magazine-ish as that sounded, that's the only way he could have decsribed it.
He pulled her close to him and then pulled away. "If you'll excuse me, I need to update my facebook. My posse has been waiting for my relationship status", he joked and kissed the top of her head. This was a good place, he decided holding her close to him. But, that thought crossed his mind again. This was still a war, and love could be as easily lost as it can be found. He looked down at the girl scrunched against him and let a small frown cross his lips.
How would Aiden cope if he lost another love?

Angie’s famous little laugh, or giggle rather, could be heard through the square at the idea of Aiden rushing home to change his status on Facebook. She had never imagined the guy doing anything online, but it shouldn’t have surprised her, seeing how most of the world today seemed to spend more time online, then out in the real world. Everyone was more fascinated by the idea of getting to know random strangers. HELLO! Bad idea, much? But anyways, the point was that it was funny to think about. “ Oh, yea. Like anyone online would believe you’re dating Evangeline Clarke.” Angie laughed, again, and gave the boy a wink and yet another kiss. Poor guy. He was dating one of the most famous people in the world, and no one would believe him. Unless she was to offer to take a picture of the two of them kissing, that is. But no way was she giving the paparazzi something else to talk about. No, Angie was perfectly happy with the rest of the world being blissfully ignorant. They couldn’t handle this war, let alone learning that America’s hottest designer was taken. And yes, the second idea probably would shock people more than the first.
Well, at least they were about to find out.
It was then, out of the corner of Angie’s eye, that she noticed something odd. A camera flash. In one swift movement, her entire head was turned away from Aiden’s, staring straight at a gangly looking teenager with a camera. Damn it! Angie rolled her eyes, obviously annoyed, and started to pull Aiden off and away to his house. But then an idea struck her. What did Evangeline Clarke have to hide from? She happened to like Aiden, and so what if everyone who picked up a magazine saw this fact? She could at least make things interesting. Turning her eyes to the man next to her, a smirk rose upon her lips. She leaned over just enough to make it look casual and whispered, “Want to have some fun?” Angie tilted her head in the direction of the camera man hiding behind a bush, who had obviously been too busy looking at the digital photos he had taken rather than Angie when she had first noticed him. He still thought they had no clue he was there.
Before Aiden really had a chance to respond to her question, though, Angie was sitting on his lap, smiling like a school girl with a crush, and soon enough, her lips found his once again. Out of the corner of her eye, however, she could see white flashes happening more frequently, and grinned at this fact, knowing that soon enough the whole world would know she was taken, but honestly not caring what they would say. Besides, it wasn’t like she didn’t get anything out of this little display. As a matter of fact, it was much easier to kiss him this way.

Aiden laughed a bit about what she said. Although, he had to admit, it was fairly true. When he was bored, he sometimes read those chatrooms, with the pimply teenaged boys claiming that they had a one night stand with Evangeline Clarke. Not to mention that they were twenty five year old body builders. It always made him laugh. One of those sick things that he did, you could say. But, you can't deny that those kind of people are funny. They way that talk, it's almost like they think people will believe them. How crazy is that?
Aiden was almost blinded by the flash of the camera. He saw Angie's head snap and thought the worst. Oh shit, now she was going to go crazy and tackle the guy, just like in Hannah Montana. Not that Aiden knew what was going on in Hannah Montana episodes...
He felt her try to pull him away from the photographer, and for a split second, he was hurt. Sure, Aiden wasn't any Mr. February, but was he really that bad that he couldn't be photographed talking to her? It made him feel just a little un loved.
But, when Angie whispered in his ear, his smile was restored. He felt her lips against his again, and kissed her back greedily. When he jumped on his lap, he almost burst out laughing. Boy, would that paparazzi kid have fun. He could see the headline now:
SCANDAL: STYLE ICON EVANGELINE CLARKE CAUGHT KISSING A HOBO
And, Aiden couldn't help but crack up. People were so silly these days. He bet that that headline would be in the paper tomorrow. Oh, not just in Dovington, but everywhere in the world that Angie lovers hid. Maybe there would be a couple fanvideos in there. Maybe they would make a couple name for them. AngEn, AidGe, AideGe. Oh, or AngAid.
