&& such a sweet smile never hid such ugly words...
She wore her favorite designer suit. It was gray with little white pin stripes. She wore her favorite lavender blouse underneath. Her makeup was done up just right and slung over her shoulder was her typical over-sized purse. In her hand was her signature Styrofoam cup of coffee with The Gypsy Cafe label across the front. Her heels made little click noises as she walked the space between the underground parking garage and the hidden entrance to The Backlot Offices. She slip her card through the security slot and smiled at the bulky looking security guard. He greeted her with a glare. She strolled down the indoor corridors now. They were painted a plain gray. Savannah hated the colors of the offices, they reminded her of a hospital.
She made her way to the end of the long hall and stuck her thumb on the print detector. The door opened for her and she stepped in to be greeted by yet another hallway. This one had doors leading to offices and ended in a huge room filled with a sea of cubicles. Savannah waved to several familiar faces and she even offered up one of her rare smiles for the casual friend, Aleah Watson.
Once her petty social interactions were finished, Savannah came up to a secretary's desk beside one of the cubicles. No one was there. Just her luck, she'd have to wait to find out the latest she was 'allowed' to reveal to the public that afternoon. She wondered if there was anything really exciting for her to uncover. She hadn't gone out on any of her little investigations in at least a week and she felt the need for risk burning in the pit of her stomach. Savannah looked up at the boring clock hanging in the secretary's cubicle. It reminded her of high school and waiting for the bell to ring. Savannah had always been the impatient sort. She also realized she didn't have time to waste that morning. She needed information and she needed it then and there.

Walking down the hallway from his office, after an already aggravating day of reports yielding almost no good news for him or his superiors, Jim was on the war path, just frustrated with all the crap he's having to deal with on his first day.
Walking by the secretaries office on his way to the bathroom, Jim spots a young woman sitting there looking quite impatient, and rather annoyed having to sit there. Wondering if she is yet another thirteener he would have to listen to report on fruitless endeavors to discover the oppositions movements and plans, he was starting to become even more irritated. Deciding better than to deal with her at that moment, he continued on to the restroom.
Five minutes later, en route to his office, he sees the same woman looking rather suspicious. Preparing himself for the worst, Jim takes a deep breath, concentrates on keeping a forced smile on his face, and walks towards the woman.
"Hello ma'am, I'm James Bamford, the temporary head of this facility, is there something I can help you with?" Extending his hand in friendship, while at the same time wondering how much of his time would be wasted listening to her.

She watched him walk over. now she stared him down, head to toe. "Savannah Fletcher. I'm with the Press. Yes, I am allowed to be here. Great, there's new management. Well, you've given me a petty back up story if you haven't gotten anything good in. I want your latest report ready for the public. Normally your sweet little secretary just hands it over. We've got a system here, don't wreck it." Savannah's tone was very to the point. She was in charge, not him. This was her turf much longer than it was ever his.
With a sigh, she took a glance back, where was Danial Loren? Her mind was so beyond not there at the moment. It was ridiculous. Yes, she needed the information Bamford would give her if he knew anything. She also never got Danial off her stupid mind. Her eyes darted back to Bamford. She made it very clear she was eager to be gone by now.
