the rules;;
>>respect your fellow members and staff >>no god-moding whatsoever. no power playing either. >>no slash accounts. i hate them. we have an alias code for a reason. >>usernames need to be your character's first and last name. >>this site is rated pg-13. no sex or horrific violence. in regards to sex, you may post your before and after but nothing graphic may be posted. since this takes place during a war, violence is ok but never go over-board with it. >>be true to your characters. i hate it when people join a rp and then post with someone they've claimed as their best friend and they don't know anything about the other character. don't post your dialogue as "hi." "hi." "how are you?" "i'm good, you?" that's not how bets friends talk. stay true to your character and keep them lively. >>keep swearing pretty minimal. i always delete my censored words because i really don't like censorship, but i don't want you guys to post every other word as a swear. that makes you look like you don't know how to write too so, just watch your wording. >>in regards to deaths... this is a war so, i'm very pro kill off your characters. i know that sounds weird, but it's what makes it feel real. i ask that before you kill off your character, you ask permission of a staff member and set up your agreement with your killer. also, build relationships with your character prior to killing. it's not worth doing if your character doesn't leave behind friends and family. >>in regards to pregnancies... in addition to being in favor of deaths, i'm also in favor of lives. the only thing i don't want is a bunch of teen pregnancies. we have specific plots tailing that story-line already. if an adult is pregnant, that's definitely ok though because that's very normal in large population. >>no one-line posts. i know some of you are new to this, but posts should be at least a paragraph and most of the time, more than a paragraph. you need to be highly responsive in your posts and keep actions rolling. people often slack off and stop posting significant things or they forget to post where they are or what they're doing while they talk. don't forget key elements of stories in the process. >>posts need to be made in the 3rd person and in the past tense. [ex; jovi walked into the room wearing a pink raincoat.] this helps teach good posting habits and organizes the site dramatically. >>keep your characters active. i don't care if you have ten characters, i want them all posting and involved in plots. >>you may take no more than five canon characters. the only exception to this rule is me or leslie or jackie because we make the canons so, they're our versions of originals. >>don't create a male character to be your boyfriend. i would rather you just ask someone to play him for you. >>don't be afraid to take a male canon. >>be active in the PLOT. i want you guys to really get into the fact that we're living in a war zone. this is life at its extremist level. we part of that and never be afraid to step out of the box drama wise. >>don't be afraid to have a lot of threads going. i want you guys to have a lot of options in posting. just try to keep those threads active in the process. >>be real. i hate it when people make all of their characters the exact same babrbie figure and nothing seems even remotely realistic. dig a little deeper into human nature. you guys are writers after all. >>dare to make big posts. like, do life changing things. that's how people are, let your characters be that way. also, host events and people, go to events. i want my site to have a lot going on all the time and god knows we have enough boards to make that happen. >>if you have any problems, feel free to message me or leslie or jackie. we're here to help.
