Crashed on the floor when I moved in This little bungalow with some strange new friends Stay up too late, and I'm too thin We promise each other it's 'til the end Now we're spinning empty bottles It's the five of us With pretty eyed boys girls die to trust I can't resist the day No, I can't resist the day
Living the days in cups of coffee and lives saved. That was the way Aleah would have described it should anyone have been willing to ask. She'd texted Nat and Holly and told them to come get dinner with her that night. She knew her two gal pals had the night off and they'd all been working over-time all week. The three deserved a good break. Now they'd get one.
Aleah was beyond used to these sort of little gatherings. They'd been going on since the girls were thirteen years old. They'd all put on some silly outfit and meet at The Grill of The Gypsy Cafe. It didn't matter where. They'd just hang out gossip or chat or laugh. It was who they were.
Aleah finished work, drove home in her little red VW bug and changed into a pair of jeans and fun little stop. She touched up her makeup, checked her voicemail. She fed Tallie and then walked her really quick before leaving again. Then, she spent about ten minutes just sitting in her car. This was routine. Leah's days were rushed so, the few seconds where she could just lay her head back in the car for two minutes were treasured and helped her keep going.
She then zipped away from her messy beach house and off to The Grill. She parked and stood outside the restaurant for a minute to check her texts. She read one from Nat, giggled, and shoved her phone in her jeans pocket. Slung over her shoulder was an over-sized purse. She wore black converse.
Her expression lit up with energy when she walked inside the semi-busy grill. She walked up to the bar and took a seat to wait for the girls. She was still under 21 so, she ordered a coffee and people watched. She also glanced a newspaper on the counter. Danial Loren's face was smeared across the front. Fletcher had written another bad review. Nat wouldn't exactly be pleased. Aleah always felt a tiny bit torn in that situation. Natalie was Leah's best friend and Savannah was Leah's close friend. Nat and Savannah didn't get along because of the obvious tension between Savannah and Natalie's older brother, Danial. Aleah sighed and shoved the paper under the bar.
She dug around in her purse and pulled out a tube of chapstick. She put some on and then took a long sip of her coffee. Where were her darlings?

Jenny screams out and it's no pose 'Cause when she dances she goes and goes Beer through the nose on an inside joke I'm so excited, I haven't spoken And she's so pretty, and she's so sure Maybe I'm more clever than a girl like her The summer's all in bloom The summer is ending soon
The vroom of the engine startled Natalie for a moment, but she ended up finding her composure. She laughed at herself for being so silly, and went on with what she was doing. These days, Nat was always jumping at little things and shivering when she saw shadows. It wasn't like she was going crazy, she was just scared. And so was everyone else. But, those thoughts rushed out of her mind when she get a text from Leah. Dinner with her and Holly would bo so very refreshing at a time like this, and that's what Nat needed.
As she drove along, she thought about the good times they had had in the past. Dressing up in silly outfits, and acting like they were from London. Well, Nat did at least. She always went all out, using mismatched makeup and oversized high heels and parading around down. Those were the days. Where you could walk around being a total idiot with everyone just talking about how cute you were. Yeah, those were the days.
Nat looked down briefly at the hands that were gripping the wheel. Blue nail polish today. She was feeling empathic for everyone, especially her overworked brother. Nat laughed at the thought of her blue nails clashing with her crazy outfit. Bright red skinny jeans, a cream laced babydoll top, and black flats. No, she didn't match. But, ask anyone. Natalie Loren never matched.
She reached her destination and jumped out of the huge car. For someone who was little shorter than most, a truck probably wasn't the right selection for poor Nat. She smoothed out her clothes, and slung her panda bag over her shoulder. Ever since Nat was thirteen, she had been carrying around that same crazy panda bag. It held all kinds of crazy things she had collected over the years and she never bothered to clean it out.
Finally, Natalie walked inside. She watched the hustle and bustle and squinted her eyes to see around. The target was spotted. Nat walked over to the bar and put her hands over Leah's eyes. "Guess who?", she asked, in an overly manly voice. Then, she giggled and sat down next to her friend before she could react. "Lee-Lee, I missed you!"

ooc; * Cough* No one told me about this thread! lol! *cough*
Holly was starving, not literally, but she was a little hungry since she had only eaten just a cobb salad for lunch. It was later in the evening at Holly had finally the night off, she would usually spent it with her boyfriend Evan, or by herself at home, or with the girls. She had recently moved out of her parents house last year and had been living on her own, especially since she enjoyed the company of Evan coming over every once in awhile. Anyways, as she headed out the door of her beach condo, near Leah's and Nat's she hoped they were already there she hated being the first one anywhere. It was more of thing of being late, or fashionably late.
She had also thrown on before some of her latest creations, something she had put together herself. A blue vintage top with a creamy ivory silk chiffon that looked like a tank top. As she made her way down the street since her house was walking distance, she didn't feel like she needed to drive today. Looking at the stores and shops closets to the cafe was good enough. Besides, Holly had to keep up with her figure. Sighing, as she reached for her phone to text Evan whom she had dearily missed, she Aleah hoping she would pick up. "I'm on my way Leah, see you in a few," she hung up as she left a voice mail, she was wrong. Nat was probably there already talking her ear off. She had missed the girls really, even though she saw them at work a day ago.
It was never a dull day without spending time Nat and Aleah. She adored every minute of them. Dovington was a small town in California, and you could get to places by walking within minutes too. Smiling she finally made it within ten minutes after awhile texting and thinking, she grabbed her purse on the other side and crossed the street. The streets was still a little dangerous to go out on your own at the moment especially with what was going on. She spotted Leah and Nat already inside, she followed behind Nat and waved, "Hey girls! I've missed you guys!" she announced herself and gave hugs to them both, first Nat then Leah. She wouldn't ever stop being friends with them if a guy came between them. Ever.
